Air Cargo Security Level E – Screening of Cargo (ACS-E)
In July 2008 the UK Department for Transport (DfT) issued a completely revised syllabus in relation to The UK National Aviation Security Training Programme – Air Cargo Security Training. All BIFA delivered courses have been rewritten in line with the new syllabus.
In July 2008 the UK Department for Transport (DfT) issued a completely revised syllabus in relation to The UK National Aviation Security Training Programme – Air Cargo Security Training. All BIFA delivered courses have been rewritten in line with the new syllabus.
The Air Cargo Security Level E course is aimed at all personnel of Regulated Agents who are undertaking screening of export air cargo either by handsearch or x-ray. This course replaces the old Cargo Level 1. Certificate will be valid for two years from date of issue at which time it may be refreshed – see Air Cargo Security – Refresher Levels D and E below.
N.B. X-ray screeners must complete this course prior to undertaking Module 7 – Using X-ray Equipment and the National X-Ray Competency Test (NXCT) for cargo screeners.

• Module 1, part 1 – General Awareness • Module 1, part 2 – Organisation of Aviation Security • Module 1, part 3 – Principles of Air Cargo Security • Module 1, part 4 – Responding to Suspicious Circumstances • Module 1, part 5 – Reacting to Threat Warnings • Module 1, part 6 – Drivers of Vehicles • Module 2 – Access Control, Cargo Protection & Patrolling Controlled Areas • Module 4 – Recognition of Firearms & Explosives • Module 5 – Methods of Concealment • Module 6 – Methods of Making Cargo Known • Module 8 – Physical Examination
Successful candidates will be issued with a certificate recognised by the DfT which is valid for a period of two years.
Air Cargo Security Level E runs over two days finishing at 1430 on the second day
