In July 2008 the UK Department for Transport (DfT) issued a completely revised syllabus in relation to The UK National Aviation Security Training Programme – Air Cargo Security Training. All BIFA delivered courses have been rewritten in line with the new syllabus.
A major change within the new syllabus was the introduction of a separate requirement for additional training for the drivers of vehicles. The Air Cargo Security Level B course consists of:
• Module 1, part 1 – General Awareness • Module 1, part 2 – Organisation of Aviation Security • Module 1, part 3 – Principles of Air Cargo Security • Module 1, part 4 – Responding to Suspicious Circumstances • Module 1, part 5 – Reacting to Threat Warnings • Module 1, part 6 – Drivers of Vehicles
Successful candidates will be issued with a certificate recognised by the DfT which is valid for a period of two years.
Air Cargo Security Level B is scheduled to run from 0900-1345 hours.
NB - If a driver has access to the freight and his/her duties include loading and unloading the vehicle in any way then this course is insufficient and the Air Cargo Security Level D - Handling and Preparation of Air Cargo course should be booked.
Course Costs*:
£80.00 (members)
£100.00 (non-members)
*All quoted costs exclude VAT.
