HMRC Safety & Security - GOV.UK guidance
HMRC have published updated Guidance on GOV.UK, about Safety & Security (S&S) requirements for imports, starting from 1 January 2021.
The new guidance will help traders to:
- Check if you need to make an Entry Summary (ENS) declaration
- Register to make an Entry Summary declaration in Northern Ireland
- Making an Entry Summary declaration from January 2021
In particular, BIFA draw Members attention to who is responsible for submitting the S&S declaration as specified in the first link “Check if you need to make an Entry Summary (ENS)) Declaration”
HMRC have also published important information which sets out what needs to be done to submit S&S export information for goods. More information about what to do next can be found by visiting https://www.gov.uk/topic/business-tax/import-export.
Businesses that move goods between Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or bring goods into Northern Ireland from outside of the UK, may want to sign up for the Trader Support Service (TSS).This is a free, digital-first service to support declarations, using information provided by traders and carriers.
