TIACA - Pharma.Aero - Project Sunrays

The purpose of project Sunrays is to create guidelines for the air cargo community on the handling, storage, transport and distribution of future COVID-19 vaccines.

We believe efficiencies and speed required by pharmaceutical companies and health authorities to deliver the vaccines will need transparency and visibility on transport requirements, temperature range, etc… as well as a good understanding of current capabilities, plans to upgrade, etc. within the air cargo industry.

To that end, we are calling on all TIACA members to contribute to this initiative by taking part in the “Sunrays – Airfreight Readiness Survey” opened until 16 September.

If you are personally not familiar or involved in your organizations pharmaceutical transport or handling, perhaps someone else in your organization is. In that case, we ask that you pass this on to any colleagues you feel would be able to provide some insight. The survey itself will take about 20 minutes to complete, and all participants will remain anonymous. A dedicated consultant will aggregate and compile the results in order to have a better understanding on the current ‘readiness level’ of our industry.

We would also like to encourage you to share with your own networks, and social media channels, since, after all, this affects us all.   Even though there is no definitive time-line for the release of Covid-19 vaccines, it is no secret that pharmaceuticals companies are racing to find the vaccine as fast as possible. This is why project Sunrays is also working on tight timelines, ensuring that we can assess the current preparedness, so that companies and countries can react as early as possible in upgrading or adapting their capabilities and capacities where necessary. We greatly appreciate the time and efforts you will put to support Sunrays by answering the survey before the 16th of September.
