Dedicated hotline and online service launched for UK exporters

Today, the Department for International Trade (DIT) have informed BIFA about the introduction of 2 new services for UK exporters.

  • New export hotline and online service, which will help more British businesses export to Europe.

  • ‘One-stop shop’ brings together UK government information, making it easier for exporters to access advice and support.

'The UK exported £288 billion worth of goods to the rest of Europe last year'

British businesses exporting to Europe will now be able to access one-to-one advice via a new phone and online service launched today [Friday, 1 October].

DIT is making it easier for exporters and those considering exporting to access the information they need to export to the rest of Europe.

From queries around Rules of Origin, to guidance on recognising professional qualifications and entering new markets, the Export Support Service will provide a single point of contact. It will help exporters navigate a range of complex information simply and quickly.

The service comes ahead of the upcoming launch of the government’s Export Strategy which aims to drive economic recovery and level up the entire country.

The strategy will promote UK business's ability to seize the opportunities to sell goods and services around the globe. It will ensure our most productive businesses can compete using our new independent trade policy, supporting jobs and prioritising the UK’s most dynamic sectors.

Businesses can access the Export Support Service by visiting www.gov.uk/ask-export-support-team or calling 0300 303 8955 to speak to a UK-based member of the export support team
