HMRC Updates List of Goods Applicable To Oral And By Conduct Declarations
Since EU Exit the BIFA Secretariat regularly receive questions regarding oral declarations, which seem particularly applicable to the RoRo environment.

The oral or by conduct document lists those goods which can be declared orally or by conduct at the point of import or export. This list is exhaustive; meaning that no other goods, other than those that appear on the list, may be declared orally or by conduct.
The Customs (Import Duty) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018, which gives effect to the Oral or By conduct list, are amended by The Customs (Import and Export Declarations By Conduct) (Amendment) Regulations 2021 so that it references the ‘List of Goods Applicable to Oral or By Conduct Declarations version 5, 10 March 2022.
